~And last but not the least wishing my Brothers a very Happy & Blessed Birthday!!!

Triple celebrations!! My heart is dancing with joy!!
Today, India is celebrating her 75th Independence Day, and I, as an Indian, am feeling proud of this achievement.

Just can't believe that this is my Seventh Blog Anniversary!! I am that person who gets bored with things very easily. I want something new and exciting each and every day of my life. A typical 9-5 kind of day is not my call. This blog of mine has not only given me that liberty to work at my pace and mood, but has also connected me with so many people. My blog is literally my heart and soul!!

Why did we choose 15th August to start my blog?
Well, 15th august has always been special to me.
1. Being an Indian, Independence day holds a special place in every Indian's heart, doesn't it?
2. My twin brothers came into this beautiful world on this very day.
And now this day has one more reason to make it all the more special- BLOGOVERSARY

Celebrations and sweets go hand in hand. To celebrate this special occasion I wanted to create a fusion dish with a difference, easy to make recipe yet special and full of flavors. And what better than giving a uber twist to a traditional Indian dish. And hence here’s my take on Panna Cotta- Kheer Panna Cotta.

The idea of making this beautiful fusion dessert came to my mind as I had lots of kheer in my fridge. I thought of giving it a fancy contemporary twist. No guesses in telling that everyone at my home loved this traditional dessert in a totally new modern avatar. In each and every bite you have Kheer flavor which is all the more enhanced by the silky cream.

While clicking the pics a beautiful thought just crossed my mind: Doesn’t this fusion dessert truly depicts how our country India is progressing to become a developed nation from a developing nation without leaving it’s age old values and culture, while at the same time showing adaptability to any changes. It is truly remarkable how the country embraces the modernization without sacrificing our core values.

Rice Kheer or Chawal ki Kheer is one of the quintessential Indian desserts loved by all. It is made with rice, milk, sugar, nuts and saffron. Making kheer during the festivals and celebrations is an Indian ritual which many of us religiously follow.

It’s creamy, luscious, flavorful and aromatic.

Panna cotta means 'cooked cream'. It  is made by sweetened cream thickened with gelatin and molded.
This chilled dessert is popular throughout Italy. It is easy to make and can be prepared in advance.
Although the name means 'cooked cream', the ingredients are only warmed enough to dissolve the gelatin and sugar.
If you want to make a dessert for your party that looks classy and leaves you with loads and loads of compliments you can bet on this one.

I am very happy the way this dessert came out. It’s so luscious, creamy, silky and velvety in texture and super delicious in taste. To go with the festive mood I have given it Indian Tricolor colors. Doesn’t it look beautiful?

Let’s see how to make this delicious dessert.

INGREDIENTS:

Prepared kheer- 2 cups

Heavy cream/ whipping cream- 250 milliliter
Agar agar strands- 10 grams(chopped)
Water- 1/2 cup
Sugar- 1/4th cup

DIRECTIONS:

We have to start first by chopping the agar agar strands in small pieces and soak them in warm water for 10 mins. Chop the agar agar in real small or tiny pieces with the help of kitchen scissors.

Mix cream and sugar in a pan or sauce pan and keep it on low flame. Keep on stirring at intervals while the cream mixture comes to a gentle boil and sugar gets completely dissolved.

At the same time, keep the agar agar and water solution on low flame in another pan. Keep on stirring the agar agar solution and let it cook till the agar agar strands are completely dissolved.

When the cream+ sugar mixture  come to a gentle boil. Switch off the flame.

Mix hot agar agar solution into the hot cream+ sugar mixture and stir very well.

Cook this mixture on low flame for about 1-2 minutes.

At any point of time mixture should not come to a rolling boil.

After this switch off the flame.

You can pass this cream and agar mixture through sieve so that you get a very homogeneous mixture.

Blend the Kheer coarsely. You can blend in a blender jar or you can blend with the help of hand blender too.

Next, add in the cream and agar mixture to the blended kheer.  Mix everything well.

Let it come to room temperature.

I wanted to make Tricolor Kheer Panna Cotta hence divided the mixture in 3 parts.
For orange color- I added the orange color to one part.
For green color- I added the green color to one part.
Third part we will be using as it is.

Now, pour this prepared Panna Cotta either in individual glasses/bowls or in a big bowl.

I have used a silicone trays.

Let them come to room temperature and then keep them in fridge for about 4-5 hours to set.

After that take out the prepared panna cotta from the molds and Enjoy!!
