Sometimes simple things give you sooo much satisfaction and pleasure. I also jumped on the latest bandwagon of making this very delicious Coffee which is the latest internet sensation!!
 
 
 
  
Whisking the coffee took me to my childhood days when we used to make hot coffee like this. We used to cream together sugar and coffee till the concoction reached to a foamy creamy texture. Then add in hot milk to it and slurp it.
We used to call it Phenti hui Coffee ;) Phentna means whisking. My brother used to whisk the coffee with this technique using all his arm strength and trust me it used to be damn tasty. Now also whenever we visit Delhi we make sure to have this coffee made by him at least a couple of times.
So basically this sensational Dalgona is an age old phenti hui coffee in a new avatar ;)
 
 
 
 
Dalgona Coffee is a cold latte drink that comes with a velvety smooth and sweet coffee foam on top. The combination of cold milk and the bittersweet coffee is simply a match made in heaven. And the best part is that you can make it without any special machines – all you need is some arm muscle and patience.

INGREDIENTS:

Instant Coffee Powder- 2 tablespoon
Sugar- 2 tablespoon
Hot water- 2 tablespoon
Milk- 1/2 cup
(Regular full cream/low fat/skimmed milk, Almond milk, Soy milk)
Ice, as required

DIRECTIONS:

Use a large mixing bowl (having enough space for your whisk to whip air in).
Add coffee, sugar and HOT water in 1:1:1 ratio in the bowl.
Whisk everything well till hard peaks form. And the chocolatey brown mixture turns to almond brown color.
Whisking by hand - using a balloon whisk, first mix the coffee, sugar and water until everything is melted. Then start whisking!!! It should form peaks.
Whisking using a hand mixer or stand mixer - first mix at lowest speed until all the coffee and sugar are dissolved. Then turn the speed to highest setting and mix until peaks form.
Fill 1/2 cup with cold milk and add some ice.
Spoon the whisked foam and add it to the top of the cup.
Mix it with a spoon to enjoy it as a latte.
You can sprinkle the top with some cocoa powder or cinnamon powder too.
