Box Patties Easy and quick to make delicious snack with samosa patty sheets and some basic ingredients. Preparation Time: 15 minutes Cooking Time: 15 minutes Yields: 10 patties
INGREDIENTS: Samosa Patty sheets- 20 sheets Corn- 1 can, 400 grams Spinach- 800 grams (after cleaning and chopping) Oil- 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon Ginger powder- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida/ Hing- A pinch Red chili powder- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala powder- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder- 1 teaspoon Chaat Masala Powder- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder- 1 teaspoon Dry Mango Powder/ Amchoor powder- 3/4th teaspoon Salt to taste Coriander leaves(chopped)- 2 tablespoon
Oil for frying

For Filling
Start by sorting, washing and chopping the spinach. Drain the corn.
In a pan, put oil. Let it heat up. Add in cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add in all the masalas. Stir them. Next, add chopped spinach and drained corn. Give it a good mix and let it cook on low heat for 4-5 minutes. Keep it aside and let the mixture come to room temperature.
How to make the Box Patties
Take two patty sheets.
Place one strip vertical and place the other one horizontal over it(ie it should be a cross see pic), like a + sign. apply a drop of paste in the center then place the other strip. Place about a tablespoon of filling in the center, that is on the part where two strips are crossing each other.
Then start folding the patty sheets in anti clockwise direction. Continue with the folding and applying the water on each fold.
Here is a perfect box. Make all the box patties and keep aside.
Deep fry them in hot oil on medium flame till nice and golden. Remove on an absorbent paper.
Serve them hot with Tomato Ketchup or Green Chutney. Enjoy!!! |
