Have you ever wondered when we go out for dinners, our kids just polish everything off the plate. Why? Is it the taste or the presentation?

I guess it’s the combination of both.
If you can make the same restaurant style recipes at the comfort of your home what can be better than that. The dish will not only look good but also is packed with great nutrients because it is home made and fresh. So, create that magic in your own kitchen by making this recipe.

Sounds difficult because of the word Tandoori in it ;) Isn’t it?

What if I tell you that you actually don’t need a Tandoor to make it ;) Your griller/oven will do the work for you. And if you don’t have that too, simply roast these marinated florets in a greased pan.

Either way, they will be finger licking yummy.

Before jumping to the recipe part, let’s see why Broccoli is considered to be as a SUPERFOOD.

When it comes to great-tasting nutrition, broccoli is an all-star food with many health benefits. While low in calories, broccoli is rich in essential vitamins and minerals, in addition to fiber.

Broccoli belongs to a family of vegetables called cruciferous vegetables and its close relatives include brussel sprouts, cauliflower, kale, bok choy and cabbage.
Broccoli is known to be a hearty and tasty vegetable which is rich in dozens of nutrients. It is said to pack the most nutritional pack of any vegetable.

Here are some of the benefits of including Broccoli in your daily meals-

1- Broccoli is a great source of Vitamin K. Which is essential for the functioning of many proteins involved in blood clotting

2- it is a great or I can say the best source of Vitamin C, which builds collagen, forms body tissue and bone, and helps cuts and wounds heal. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant and protects the body from damaging free radicals.

It can help to fight skin damage caused by the sun and pollution, reduce wrinkles, and improve overall skin tone and hence helps in anti aging.

3- It is a good source of folate (folic acid), which is necessary for the production and maintenance of new cells in the body.
4- it is a good source of potassium and fibre for our body, needed for good digestive health and proper functioning of nerves.
5- Improves bone health.
6- Broccoli has been associated with Immunity Boosting and is a Cancer Fighting Super Food. Eating a high amount of cruciferous vegetables has been associated with a lower risk of cancer.

Coming back to this interesting recipe which can be made in an hour (minus the marinating time) is super scrumptious and super healthy at the same time. Just few basic spices from your pantry and a great dish will be there on your table.

Let’s see how to make this recipe by having a look at the ingredients first.

INGREDIENTS:

Broccoli- 18 large florets

For the Marinade-
Yogurt/Curd- 3/4th cup
Chickpea Flour/ Besan- 2 teaspoon
Kasoori Methi- 1 teaspoon
Salt- to taste
Tikka Barbeque Masala- 5 teaspoon (I have used MDH tikka masala)
Turmeric- 1/4th teaspoon
Coriander Powder- 2 teaspoon
Red chili Powder- 1/2 teaspoon
Chaat Masala- 1 teaspoon
Oil- 2 teaspoon

For Garnishing
Onion Rings, Tomato slices and Mint leaves.

DIRECTIONS:

Cut Broccoli into Florets.

Boil a pot of Water. The pot should be big enough to accommodate all the florets.
When the water starts boiling reduce the flame to medium low.
To blanch, drop the Broccoli into the Water gently. Press to submerg in completely.
Let them boil in water for 4-5 minutes.
After that, transfer the Florets into an Ice Bath. (Put blanched broccoli in a pan of ice cold water. This way they will not loose their color).

Meanwhile let’s prepare the marination.
Mix all the ingredients listed under Marinade.
Add in the blanched broccoli florets in the prepared marinade.
Mix well till the marinade coats the broccoli well.

Set aside for an hour.

After that Preheat oven to 170*C.

Line a baking tray with Parchment paper. Grease it with little oil.
Arrange the marinated broccoli florets on the tray.

Put the tray in the preheated oven.

Grill them @170*C for 15-20 minutes.

Serve hot with ketchup or chutney.

Enjoy!!
