Tomato Salsa

Tomato Salsa

This homemade tomato salsa recipe is super easy to make and tastes so fresh and healthy. You just need a few ingredients which are commonly available in every kitchen and it takes just 10 minutes to make.

Fresh Tomato Salsa is like a breath of fresh air to your mundane evening snacks. You can have it as your lunch or dinner side dish too. And don't forget, this is the perfect partner for your movie nights. Now, there’s no need to splurge on those expensive, store-bought, preservative-laden Salsa bottles. Why not have a go at making your own at home? And you can adjust the ingredients according to your family’s tastes.

Me and my family love this homemade tomato salsa. We love having it with Nachos. I always make a big batch of it and if there are any leftovers (which rarely happens ;)) we either put it on freshly toasted bread to make sandwiches or mix it in yogurt to make vegetable raita.

Do try this easy-peasy recipe!

INGREDIENTS:

Tomatoes- 2, big

Onion- 1, medium

Red bell pepper- 1/2 (if big or 1 small)

Parsley/ Coriander- a handful

Lemon juice- 2 tablespoon

Green chilies- 2

Vinegar- 1 teaspoon

Cumin powder- 1 teaspoon

Black pepper powder- 1/2 teaspoon

Pink Salt- 2 teaspoon (adjust according to your taste)

DIRECTIONS:

Roughly chop the tomatoes, onion, bell pepper and chilies.

Put all the ingredients in the jar of the food processor fitted with the blade.

(If you don’t have a food processor, finely chop everything).

Pulse it in bursts of 2 seconds for a few times, just enough to dice everything.

We don’t have to make a paste or purée of this.

Taste test the salsa for seasoning.

Keep it in a bowl in the fridge for at least one hour so that all the flavors combine.

Serve with chips, nachos, tacos, burritos or tostadas.

Enjoy!!
