GuacaSalsa
What a name na?
This is the name of my favourite dip. The marriage of Guacamole with Salsa is GuacaSalsa.
I can skip my meal just to dig into this dip with a bowl of Nachos,Chips or Crispies.
This dip doubles up as both the guacamole and the tomato salsa, the elementary elements of any Mexican meal.
It has the flavors of guacamole but more of a texture similar to a chunky salsa. I can totally go gaga about it and keep on describing it that how amazing it is but take my word it's just one of those things you’ll have to try for yourself. To give you an idea of how much I liked it, believe me when I say I can skip my meal just to dig into this dip with a bowl of Nachos,Chips or Crispies.
Oh yes and it is definitely worth it!!! And did I tell you that this dip is so amazing that you can have it on its own too. I always eat this by the spoonfuls.
And I don’t feel guilty eating it because just look at all the healthy ingredients in the recipe. It is loaded with veggies and fresh, nutrient packed ingredients. I am sure just like me you are going to love this!
To give it a burnt flavor I sauté my veggies before tossing them in the processor. However, you can skip this step.
This Guacasalsa is delicious, easy, and versatile. You can serve it with tortilla chips, crispies, biscuits, crudités or even use as a filling in sandwiches and wraps.
INGREDIENTS:
Avocados- 2(peeled, pit removed, cut into 1/4-inch dice)
Onions- 2 (large)
Red bell pepper- 1/2
Green bell pepper- 1/2
Tomatoes- 10-12 (if using cherry tomatoes. Otherwise 2 tomatoes)
Green chills- 4
Jalapeño Peppers- 2 tablespoon (I have used the bottled ones)
Lemon/lime juice- Juice of 2 lemons
Salt to taste
Tomato ketchup- 1 tablespoon
Oil- 1/2 teaspoon
DIRECTIONS:Roughly chop onions, bell peppers and tomatoes.
Toss them in a pan with oil for 3-4 minutes.
Do not overcook them. I do it just to remove the raw flavor of veggies.
Let them come to room temperature.
Now, mix all the ingredients and blend them in a food processor or mixer. Do not over blend.
We don't want chutney but the consistency should be little bit towards the chunkier side.
And Voila the most amazing the most versatile dip is ready..
Fill your chips bowl grab your seat and enjoy this with your favorite movie show!!!!!!
