Combine the versatility of Poha with the addictive taste of Murmura, and you get a delicious snack.
What makes this mixture unique is that it can be stored for upto 4 weeks in an airtight container.
INGREDIENTS:
Flat rice/ Poha- 2cups
Puffed rice/ Murmura/ kurmura- 2cups
Peanuts- 1/2 cup
Roasted chana dal/ dalia- 1/2 cup
Curry leaves- 14-15
Dry Coconut slices- 1/2 cup
Oil- 2 tablespoons
Mustard seeds- 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds- 1 teaspoon
Salt- 1 teaspoon
Sugar- 2 teaspoon
Green chilies- 4, chopped
Red chili powder- 1 teaspoon
Coriander Powder- 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder- 1.5 teaspoon
Asafetida- a pinch
DIRECTIONS:
Keep a kadai or wok on heat. When it becomes hot put flat rice/poha in it.
Dry roast it for 3-4 minutes. Keep stirring continuously.
After that take out roasted poha in a plate.
Wipe clean the wok.
In the same wok dry roast puffed rice/ murmura for 2-3 minutes.
Take them out once done.
In the same kadai, put 1 tablespoon of oil.
Let it become hot.
Roast peanuts on slow flame.
Once they are done take them out with the help of a slotted spoon leaving as much oil in the kadai.
In the same oil add another tablespoon of oil and heat it.
Add in mustard seeds and cumin seeds, when it splutters, add dry coconut slices and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
Next add curry leaves and green chilies and sauté till the curry leaves become crisp.
Add in all the masalas and mix well.
Add roasted chana dal/ dalia and give it a good mix.
Add in roasted peanuts, poha and murmura.
Stir everything well gently.
Switch off the flame.
Serve hot or let it cool completely and store in air tight container.
