Lassi or Buttermilk is a favorite Indian drink. It is a great appetizer. This is easy to make. It comes in different flavors, salty or sweet.
At my place we all relish different flavors of Lassis with our meals. But this Mango Lassi is the most favorite of ours.
The hotness of summer brings summery cool refreshing drinks to quench our thirst and cool the body. But there’s one thing about summers which I love the most -“MANGOES”
Mangoes are a favorite of many people. I have not found anyone who does not like mangoes. Mangoes become a quintessential part of any meal or rather I should say every meal at my place. I often make this Mango Lassi to accompany with our lunch.
I feel this is the best way to combine the sweetness of mangoes with the coolness of yogurt. This time I added Chia Seeds in my Lassi which have powerful antioxidant properties and are the best summer coolers.
You can use either canned mango pulp or cubed fresh mango. If you use fresh, make sure to use the ripe sweet mangoes. If your mango isn’t ripe enough it will be too tart and you’ll have to add more sugar or honey than you would like.e.
2cup plain Yogurt
2 cups chopped very ripe Mango or a cup of canned mango pulp
8 teaspoons sugar( Adjust sugar according to your taste)
1/2 tsp of Cardamom powder (optional)
1cup chilled water
3 tablespoon Chia Seeds
Put chopped Mango, Yogurt,Water, Sugar and Cardamom into a blender and blend until well blended.
Add chia seeds.
Keep the lassi in fridge for half an hour.
Chia seeds will swell up.
Pour into individual glasses.
